John has grown up and lived in the Manning Valley for most of his life. He attended school at Bobin, Wingham and Taree before completing his secondary education in Sydney.

John holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree from Newcastle University. John obtained his Diploma in Law from the Legal Practitioners Admission Board in 1996. He is also a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Notaries.

John has been practising in Taree since 1997. Since that time John has held office with the Mid North Coast Law Society. John’s main areas of practice are Commercial Litigation and also assisting clients with catastrophic compensation claims. In addition, John has a special interest in assisting clients with estate planning and issues regarding appointments of enduring attorneys and guardians.

Outside of the law, John enjoys surfing and performing with local bands . He also sits on the board of local community groups, helping as best as his abilities allow.

Amanda joined the Walker Legal & Conveyancing team in 2013. Before achieving her Master’s in Family Law, Amanda also gained invaluable experience working as an assistant/understudy to an Accredited Specialist Family Law Solicitor.

 Amanda has lived in the Taree area for most of her life, relocating to the University of New England in Armidale to obtain her tertiary qualifications. After being awarded her Law Degree, Amanda completed the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice through the College of Law in Sydney and was admitted to practice law in 2010. She has worked in the local area during that time and has also taken time to complete further qualifications and in May 2014 was awarded a Master’s in Applied Law in the field of Family Law.

Amanda is also passionate about helping disadvantaged people and is currently conducting a free legal clinic at Gloucester as part of the Regional Outreach program in conjunction with Legal Aid NSW. She is a member of the NSW Legal Aid Family Law Panel and can assist Legal Aid clients with family law matters.

Amanda also represents clients in the Local Court for criminal pleas and sentencing. She is also a member of the NSW Legal Aid Criminal Law panel and can assist legally aided clients in criminal law matters. 
Amanda appreciates all the Manning Valley has to offer and enjoys fishing and the outdoors, as well as travelling and experiencing other cities and cultures.

Tenika grew up in Wingham and has lived in the Manning Valley for most of her life.

Tenika obtained Bachelor’s Degrees in Forensic Science and Law (LLB) (Hons) at Bond University on the Gold Coast in February 2015. She joined the Walker Legal team prior to completing the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and was admitted to the NSW Supreme Court in April 2016.  

Whilst obtaining her tertiary qualifications, Tenika gained practical experience with a variety of governmental and private firms working in commercial and corporate law, criminal law, mental health and administrative law. During her study, she completed several placements with community advocacy groups providing legal assistance to disadvantaged or vulnerable individuals. 

As a graduate solicitor, she is flexible and responsive to the needs of her clients and aims to provide realistic and effective advice. She assists in matters before the Local Court, including representation for criminal pleas and sentencing, and works alongside her colleagues in a wide range of legal matters including wills and estates, compensation and personal injury, contractual disputes and family law. She is currently a member of the NSW Legal Aid Family Law Panel and Criminal Law Panel.

Our Licensed Conveyancer, Linda, joined our firm in February 2016. Linda has been employed in the legal industry since 1998. She started out as an all-rounder, and as such has an overall understanding of different legal aspects, but decided that conveyancing was her passion and has concentrated her skills in this area for the last 15 years. She started out in Sydney and then moved to our local area in 2005 for the ultimate lifestyle change. She has worked in two legal firms since then in their conveyancing departments. In 2016, she completed the Conveyancing Law and Practice course at Macquarie University and has attained her Conveyancing Licence. Linda is also a registered NSW Justice of the Peace and provides this service from our office to members of the public.

Linda is very approachable and friendly; she provides an accurate and cost-effective service in all matters of conveyancing, residential and commercial, making your conveyancing experience as stress-free as possible.

She is also passionate about animal welfare and provides foster care to dogs assisting one of our local rescue groups with abandoned, neglected or abused dogs until they find their forever/permanent home.
